Hello. I've been considering upgrading from my current fitness band to the Galaxy Fit 3 as I own a Galaxy A35 and would like to stay in the ecosystem. However, I've read on the r/GalaxyFit subreddit and on here that the Fit 3 has multiple issues regarding sleep tracking, workout tracking and step/general syncing. Most of these threads stopped being active after September 2024 though, with no one stating anything about these issues being fixed or not.
Is the Galaxy Fit 3 a viable product currently or should I look at other options?

Hi, my wife bought this watch 2 weeks ago and has had the well known issues multiple times. She has returned it and received another one last weekend. Today the issues started all over again. Haven't found any fixes yet.

So, I've been daily driving the Fit 3 since January 18 and I haven't noticed any issues so far. In fact, its measurements seem more reliable than my previous Mi Band 6.
The only thing that kind of bugs me is that for some reason it seems to detect whenever I move in my sleep as an "awake moment". However, these moments are almost always <1min and Samsung Health compensates for that (it is mentioned in the Sleep page).
As for workout tracking, I cannot tell you if it works as intended with 100% certainty since I'm not that active.
Also, this behavior during sleep is common across Samsung watches in general from what I could gather during my research before buying the Fit 3. I could be wrong on that, though, so feel free to correct me on this if that's the case.

What problems do you mean? For me, the most annoying thing so far is the battery, which lasts a little over 3 days. Since yesterday around 5 pm I've already lost 30%. Wake-up only with the button, no AOD but continuous health monitoring on.

Sorry for the late reply, I was caught up with university.
The issues I was referring to were the ones I mentioned when I started this thread (sleep tracking, workout tracking and step/general syncing). As I stated above, the only issue I have is with the <1min awake moments whenever the Fit 3 detects movement during sleep, but it's negligible since Samsung Health compensates for it.
For me, the battery lasts about 7 days (I charge it every Friday night). That is with AOD off, wake-up only with the button, heart rate monitoring every 10 mins, manual stress & oxygen levels, blood oxygen measurement during sleep off and auto workout detection off (basically I have almost everything set to manual other than the basic functions).
I have to note something I forgot to mention yesterday, and that is that the Fit 3 (and any wearable device for that matter) might not perform the same for all people. Just because it works well on me does not necessarily mean that it will work the same on others due to multiple factors, some of them being body hair, tattoos, skin condition and the general contact of the device's sensors with the skin. Even biological differences between individuals might play a part in the device's overall performance. For example, I have seen a post in the r/GalaxyFit3 subreddit where someone got "better" measurements just by putting their watch on the other side of their arm and a bit higher, thus ensuring that the sensors are making contact with almost clear skin instead of being obstructed by hair.

Okay, I thought there were other problems over time.
I noticed that my battery life increased significantly when I turned off the automatic brightness setting. It's winter, I spend a lot of time indoors, so I can set the minimum screen brightness all day long. In the summer, it won't work. By the way, it's very irritating that with automatic brightness in the middle of the night, the watch brightens to about 1/4 of the scale. I thought it had to learn or something. However, every time I manually moved it to the minimum, the watch would have 1/4 of the brightness setting again after unlocking it again.
It's a bit sad that despite all the settings on yours, it only lasts 7 days. Samsung said 13 days, and you have everything on low anyway. Samsung meant 13 days when it just displays the time on the simplest dial.
As for the measurements, sometimes the hair on your wrist prevents the measurement of blood oxygen. Other values may also be less accurate, but I have no way to check that.
As for sleep, I also have the whole night in tiny red bars informing me about waking up. It's annoying, because I didn't sleep with the Fit 3 for 44 minutes tonight, and I didn't wake up once.
I was afraid at first that the PPI would bother me. After unpacking the watch, it was pixelated, but after a week I think I got used to it.
As for the software, I have the latest available installed. That is, R390XXU0AXHD, with a size of 19.28 MB.

I tried 2 watches, both had the same issue. Watch is crashing all the time. Trainings are crashing and lost. Samsung cannot help. Too bad, so I had to return them. Would be great if they were able to solve the issue. Would not recommend to buy at this point

Are Fit 3 received software update in Jan 2025?
Tell me
