Using programme guide to set TV to record something

Hi,

I have a UE43TU8500UXXU.  I have a USB HDD attached and it all works fine, recording TV and timeshifting.  There's only 1 problem...

...if I want to set the TV to record something e.g. in 5 days time it seems I have only 2 ways of doing this and both are a complete PITA to do:

1.  Use the Programme Guide on another device to look up the program then manually input all the settings - date, time, channel, etc. into the Smasung TV or...

2.  Press the right arrow button on the remote control hundreds of times, programme by programme, to move the Programme Guide to the programme in 5 days' time and set it that way.

 

My 10-year old Sony Smart TV had a button on the remote you could press which advanced the Programme Guide +1 day, which made it so much easier.

 

Am I missing something or are Samsung TVs really this awkward to use?

Hi,

there seems to be some issues about different remotes that people get with their TVs but on mine I have found that pressing the "Fast Fwd" button (bottom right of the remote) steps the guide on by one day and "Fast Rwd" steps it back a day.
