Hi I have a UE49KS7500. Recently the universal remote has compeltely stopped working - I've tried changing the battery and resetting the TV. The smart remote still works but only button not working is the power off button so I have to turn the TV off using the little button under the TV set itself.
Any ideas? I don't understand why on the smart remote for example only the power off button is not working.
for both remotes the red led lights come on when you press a button so there is power there.
thanks
Alastair

I have the same problem now with my UE55KS8090TXZG. I had a BN59-01274A on which one button stopped working. Thus I have ordered a replacement and got a BN59-01266A which worked fine at first (i.e. with infrared only) until I paired it with the TV. Now after pairing I cannot turn off the TV anymore. It worked before pairing but not after. So I think it must be an issue once paired via bluetooth to the TV.

Eventually, I have ordered a replacement directly from Samsung and that works just fine. The other one was probably a keep Chinese knock-off order via Amazon. The Samsung replacement is made in Indonesia.

I have a theory on this problem. Perhaps the remote works with more than one code setting for Samsung TVs. But when pairing it, it stops at the first one that works, and that one is not fully compatible, i.e., the power-off function doesn't work. If Samsung published the actual codes for each model, we could input it directly into the remote instead of using the scan function. Can my theory be ruled out based on what you are seeing?

I know it’s almost 2025 now but I came across this thread and wanted to let y’all know that I had the same problem. Go into Settings (All Settings) - Support - Remote Control Guide. Hold down the Back button and the Play/Pause button for 3 seconds and that will reset and pair the remote to the TV again. BN59-01455A remote on a 65” S90D television. Hope this helps.
