UE40F5500AWXXH won't start, LED blinking

I have Samsung TV Model: UE40F5500AWXXH.

When I turn the TV on, the red LED light blinks twice and this is reapeted 5 times, then it pauses for few seconds and then the light keeps blinking in this pattern (5 sets of 2 blinks). The screen never comes up.

After research I found out that it might be related to 'power supply issue'. I have tried different power supply cords, multiple sockets and I disconnected everything that was plugged in to the TV. I also left TV unplugged overnight and it still won't turn on.

Has anyone experienced similar? I would appreciate your help, as I'm trying to establish if this fault is even worth fixing or should I get new TV? Some sources say it might be faulty capacitors (relatively cheap fix) or whole motherboard (half of the price of TV set).

Hi WojtekS - did you find a solution to this problem? What caused all this?

I have the UE42F5005AK with the exact same issue. Full explanation here: https://eu.community.samsung.com/t5/tv/ue32f5000ak-led-blinks-5-times/m-p/2203154#M51671

UPDATE

I contacted Samsung chat support, where I was told that this was most likely related to the power supply. I then ordered a new power supply (the entire print) from Spares2repair, which cost me around 40 USD including shipping. I then replaced the power supply, and now the TV works!

This was a really simple operation - you just have to loosen some screws and disconnect the two plugs that are attached to the power supply print plate.

If you have the same symptoms, I would recommend trying this before replacing the entire TV.
