i bought an samsung uhd 55" tv. it came with the universal samsung remote. my tv is connected with an optical cable to a 5.1 surround sound system also by samsung. on setting up the universal remote (to also turn on and of the surround system and change volume) it asks if the turn on/off of the surround system was successful. the first time it doesn't work. after pressing no and it tests the second time it works. the surround system turns on/off and the setup is completed.
So now i can change volume of the surround system. But the weird thing is even though turning on and off the surround system worked when setting up the remote, it just doesn't work anymore. i can still change volume but it doesn't turn on/off my surround system. I already tried changing settings within the surround system and the tv but nothing seems to work.
Why the f*ck does it only work when setting up the remote. i don't get why it stops working right after exiting the setup. help would be really appreciated...
