As it stands I am only able to use 1080p 60hz on my series x as when I attempt to up res / to 1440p (no 4k option) my 4k tv says its doesnt support this resolution and reverts back to 1080.
I have gone through the settings when the xbox tries to auto detect the display it throws out a 640 x 480 resolution. I am only able to obtain 1080p by detecting the source manually.
My current software is 1280.5 I'm aware my tv is an old model but 4k 60hz is the spec so it should be supported?
What I'm basically asking is there going to be a firmware update to support this console or hdmi 2.1 or do have to go out and get a new 4k tv that allows 4k
