SAMSUNG show firestick as a black screen

Hi everyone,

i have an UE40H5000AK tv and i have an 4k firestick connected to it and its now just showing a black screen when i boot it up.

starts of with the display resolution and the amazon logo show then it just black and nothing!

i have try others on it and its the same but when i put the firestick to another tv its perfectly fine.

anyone has this issue and how they solved it? Im planning to update the firmware to see if that will make any differene.

@Soya1 oh right, I did mention unzipping (which is the same thing) yesterday. This should do the trick.

Im confused now.

the firmware for the TV isnt right! I dont understand why its not updating or thinks its the wrong file!

Hi @Soya1  The latest firmware is definitely 1042 on the Samsung support site for the model you have mentioned  https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/model/UE40H5000AKXXU/    Ensure there is no other file on the USB stick, you may need to factory Reset your Tv.  If still issues format and download again, if cannot be resolved try the other steps for the firestick meantime.     https://eu.community.samsung.com/t5/tv/samsung-show-firestick-as-a-black-screen/td-p/2436989

Ok! It seems the tv will not detect the firmware either way. And still says its 10.18 and that it cannot find any files from the USB.

even reset TV to default and still the same.

has to be an issue with the TV.

@JAMES4578 - i think the firmware might not be right or is faulty firmware.

TV doesnt think the file is correct and wont update.

I think the firmware provided by the site not correct.

The TV is not able to find or see the file even if i reset the TV and redownloaded the firmware to USB stick.

@Soya1  Just checkng there is nothing on the USB stick other than the firmware and that this procedure  has been  followed (even though 2015 guide here)  https://downloadcenter.samsung.com/content/FM/201508/20150810142523531/2015_TV_Firmware_Upgrade_Inst...  I have recently updated firmware on a 2017 model  and that worked fine and never had issues with the files on this or other models.    However not to say there cannot  be issues or encounter corrupted files.    Perhaps if others have 2014 models  they can confirm if any  problems, could be an issue with the Tv though.
