Hello. I’ve just bought a 55” QN95a - it’s connected to both a PS5 and an Xbox Series X.
I've been having an issue, where when playing a game on either console, the screen/sound blacks out for about two seconds and then just goes back to normal. The game carries on in the background as it’s momentarily blacked out.
I’ve scoured the internet and it seems it’s a very common issue, particularly with Samsung Tv’s.
ive been offered a replacement tv or just one connect box, and I’ve opted to try a new one connect (easier that packing up a whole tv etc) that should come in a couple of weeks. But I’m not convinced that it’s a technical fault, but rather something software / setting related.
Ive obviously spoken to Samsung, but as always, it’s just the usual, generic troubleshooting. I’ve tried factory settings, different hdmi ports, changing from 8bit to 10bit etc. But it persists.
Any other ideas? The tv works flawlessly otherwise, it would be wonderful to get to the bottom of this one issue
Thanks

It seems that 1708 has made things much better for those who had very frequent drop outs, but not necessarily for those who very rarely had them (say 3 times a week)

I`ve had 55qn95a for å month now, strugling with dropp outs on ps5. And when playing pvp in 120hz i`ve actually lost the hdmi signal completly... so had to turn 120hz of:(
I got this tv for it`s 120hz and the lowest input lag there is on a tv. It`s not an option to reduse quality to fiks this problem! like redusing to -1 (4-2-2 = hdmi 2.0b)
i`v read several forums the last week.
Mine now works perfect with ps5. Note: I only use this for ps5.
- I installed a new certified premium hdmi 2.1 cable (0,75m)
-I turned off internet on tv. Someone said that the blackout happend becasue the tv was cheking for updates in the background.
-I have turned of off the ability that turns connected units on/off with the tv. I read that you should first turn on the tv and let it fully boot up before turning on other units.
-I have made sure the signal sent from ps5 matches the signal settings for the tv.
-I have set up hdr settings first between the tv and the ps5 and then ingame hdr afterwords.
-I have turn off all power saving settings and picture help programs.
-I have calibrated the picture manually i expert settings.
And now i can finaly say `this TV is Amasing!`
The black/white on this tv is insane! you need to calibrate it correctly thow.
Hope this helps some of you

Has anyone tried the latest 1805.4 firmware which came out in the past day or two?
1708 on our QN95A made SkyQ solid on 10bit, hoping 1805.4 will sort out 120hz stability for the PS5.

1805.4? That is news to me? Never seen that firmware - is it available?

Yep I ran 1805 in yesterday
1) BBC iplayer app. Still disables Picture Clarity settings when playing anything (think this was introduced in 1708)
2) LPCM issue - Still greys out Passthrough option
3) Dropouts - Haven't had any yet. Fingers crossed. I had them occur on 1708 within a day so hopefully this time it's better

Some have seen it is they check for updates, I didn't so downloaded it from the UK Samsung website to USB and applied that way.

Where is the greyed out issue for LPCM passthrough? I'm not sure on this, we have audio out HDMI on the TV set to LPCM permanently as it's the only way to get Sky/TV apps to all work without me having to change this setting each time. We had iPlayer on last night but didn't see what setting was applied - I'd assume it was still LPCM as we didn't change anything.
