Hey guys,
I have successfully established a working connection between my new Samsung Q9R and my older Bose Lifestyle T20 audio receiver. While video is going into the One Connect box, sound passes through the optical cable - I am able to control volume up and down through the Samsung smart remote, which is a great first step. When setting up the universal control, it did recognize the "this device should now turn off, if you press the on-off button" action. Which tells me theoretically, the infrastructure should be working.
However, I would like my audio receiver to turn on and off, whenever I turn on my TV. I can't find any expert settings in regards to the universal control and am now wondering how I can sychronize this action. I don't see where I could teach the samsung remote to do this.
- do I need to consider a different audio output connection?
- do I need ARC or CEC support from my audio receiver?
Thank you so much for your kind help, much appreciated.

I have the same issue with a Cinimate 15. Volume works fine and so did the power tests on setup. There just doesnt seem to be a way to turn the bose on/off automatically with the TV, or even turn it on/off with the Samsung remote. Would be brilliant if anyone has any ideas.

If anyone needs a workaround for this, ive managed to use a broadlink RM mini 3 with smartthings and IFTTT to turn on/off the soundbar when the TV is turned on/off
It works pretty well but sometimes there can be a bit of a delay.
Just one thing to note, you will need to setup the soundbar as a TV in the broadlink app as only TV's are supported with IFTTT .
Another option if you didnt want to use the IFTTT automation is that you can also just use alexa/google home to turn on/of the soundbar using the RM mini.
