QN70C and Denon S760H

My Samsung QN70C 55 inch tv is connected by earc to a Denon S760H AV Receiver, the HDMIs are certified 8k and ultra speed.

CEC is enabled and Earc on the tv and arc on the avr, all is fine until I turn the tv off and the next day the tv doesn't show the Denon Avr as being a source or connected, the tv seems not to receive any signal from the avr.

If I turn CEC off on the tv then the Denon appears as a source again but the sound is disabled, turn CEC on again and the avr disappears as a source.

My only workaround is to unplug the tv and reboot it and everything works as normal, the tv and avr work together in harmony, but it hardly feels like a solution.

Are Samsung and Denon not compatible?

Do you have receiver set as as your primary sound source in advanced on the sound settings and have the earc in the right hdmi port.

Hi I've turned the tv on today to check the settings and the tv has it recognised as an external device.

Yes to both.
If I don't plug the hdmi into the correct port the tv tells me off.

Ok strange so in the setting in the sound have a look and just make sure its set to receiver rather than tv as output.

Found this not sure if it makes sense to you:
In the amp setup, under hmdi setup there is an option called smart menu. If that is on then you will get an option on the tizen icon for the amp under anynet+ called AV Receiver. When you choose that you get the amp’s smart menu - you can choose source from there.
