Possible to kill an app on Frame?

I use a media app which often freezes.  When this happens I would like to kill it and restart it.  However, the Frame's OS doesn't seem to allow this.   If I press and hold the OK button on the app while in the Home screen I can only remove the app shortcut.  There's also no facility in Apps that I can see.

My only option to get this app running again is to switch off the TV at the wall.  It seems incredible that I can't even reboot the TV with the remote control.

While I'm on a roll, I think I will state for the record that I consider Samsung's smartTV OS a pile of rubbish.

55" Frame 2023.

Whata the app? If its that only app seems a very poorly made app, I'd reach out to the developers via detains in the apps store section.

It's ITVX. ITV are not renowned for their online/app offerings.

I have this problem with Netflix. Opens up a black screen where I cannot do anything but go to "home" of the TV OS. I think the mor suprising thing here is that there are no way to close/kill an app. This OS is horrible.

I have this problem with the Netdlix app. It goes to black when opening it, and I have option to close/kill the app. Closing software should be one of the first things to be added to a OS.

Holding back on the smart remote kills an app

Not for me it doesn't.

For example, when I start Netflix after a TV reboot the app shows the Netflix startup sequence, then the user selection.   However, when in Netflix I hold the Back button, as you suggest, then yes the app disappears, but it does not kill it.  Selecting Netflix again does not go to the startup sequence but instead it goes quickly to wherever I was when I held the Back button.

Closing/minimising an app is not the same as killing it.

Agreed.  I'd also add that restarting the OS with the remote should be possible, rather than having to get up and turn off the power at the wall.

The Samsung OS is truly awful.  So many irritations about it.  For example, my Frame is displaying art:  great.  Then I want to watch TV, so I press Home.  Instead of going to the apps screen so I can choose the app of choice, it instead goes to the Art screen.  Why do Samsung think I'm going to spend more time browsing the art collection instead of watching TV?   And I really, really can't stand the Mute symbol flashing on the screen when I mute the sound.  I know it's muted cos there's no sound!  It's so, so rubbish.
