New to Smart TV

I will be buying a blu ray player, soundbar and smart tv for my spare room.

It's sole use will be to play blu ray and DVD. I cannot connect it to the internet from this room. 

Question is, when i first switch on the TV does it need to be all connected up to the internet before i can access the menu to choose to watch a blu ray/DVD?

Hello, well your smart TV will need to be set up to the Internet to use some of its features like netflix and other apps to download, your bluray player will work for bluray and dvds without internet but dont quote me on it some bluray have additional content if its connected to the Internet if my memory serves me right. enjoy your new purchases
