Mirror Screen with VPN

Just wondering if there is a reason why  Samsung TVs block the ability to Mirror your phone screen to a Samsung TV if you have an active VPN on your phone?

To make things even more enjoyable. I use Nord VPN on all my devices. I bought my phone, and the mirroring didn't work on my TV for a few days. I dug around and found that if I used split tunneling, that'd help it work. It didn't after some time. It just magically started working. 

In the meantime, I was using my Tab with the VPN, and it was working. And to my amusement, I didn't even have the split tunneling to bypass any application. I got a new Tab now and am experiencing the same issue.

All of my devices are Samsung and are on the same subnetwork.

how can i get a solution for this. i have the same issue.

living in france want to see dutch tv. proton vpn fine on my phone but no screen mirror to my tv

You can only mirror the screen if vpn is switched off. You could try going in to your van and change server to a Dutch server, which might let you see Dutch TV

Found a workaround:

Galaxy S21 5G
Samsung AU7020 43
Nordvpn

Go to profile -> settings -> local network discovery

Enable it, you could also try ticking "don't override system dns" but I didn't need it.

Not sure if other vpn providers have this functionality but worth the try!
