Hi, I’ve recently purchased a new tv - QE55QN88C. Prior to this I used a Freesat box to receive channels with no issues but I tried plugging the dish cables directly into he tv and can get no channels to work. I contacted Samsung support who suggested I need to get an engineer to come out as it was showing signal quality and strength around 40-50% and a bit error level of around 130. Is there anything I can do before I get someone out to look at this? The dish has been up for several years so likely and older lnb

I had to put a bigger dish to get a stronger signal to watch HD channels.

Check if your old converter is full HD.

The most annoying thing on my Samsung is that I need to switch freeview or freesat aerisl in options depending on what I want to watch.

It’s a full hd box and all the channels had no issues previously. We haven’t got an aerial installed so just through the dish

I had Sky Q which was proving expensive so I wanted to switch to Freesat. It was quite difficult to establish whether the TV had the necessary satellite receiver built in but it had a connection point so I took a chance and replaced the lnb on the dish (£10 from Amazon). I used the same cable and the TV's built in scanner to locate the channels. All good but after a while the TV started pixelating and signals were dropping. After much research I chanced upon a site that said the UK is covered by Astra 2 28.2E whereas the TV's default satellite was Astra 2 19.2E. Made the necessary changes on the TV's scanning settings (you select the satellite from a drop down list) and bingo, all good. I hope this helps someone with similar issues
