I've tried to look it up on the app and online, but I couldn't find a way to choose a mat when running the art mode to a slide show. All the pictures take up the entire screen which really takes away from the "real picture frame" experience 😕
It'll be great if there was an option to set the default mat for all pictures in the app's settings.

You can do it per pic, but can’t choose a default mat to use for all pics.

They do have a mat option in the Samsung art.

This has been a gripe of many users, including myself, for years. As Kaypod81 says, there is no default mat setting that you can set for slideshows. So, if you have 100 pics for your slideshow, you need to set mat for each and every one (or use No Mat). The whole app needs to be rewritten to give you the ability to adjust mat colors, set up folders for different slideshows (seasonal, for instance), and the ability to set default mats for slideshows. If Samsung reads the forums, they would have seen this but they don't respond. If anyone knows whether or not the software has been updated in 2023 or 2024, please post. Thanks!

This method worked for me. It is CRAZILY counterintuitive. Terrible design.

Should be a global setting for this no question.

I cannot find a way to default to a mat non all art, at least per group. It is vey time consuming to do one artwork at a time.
if you found a way, let us know.
in the meantime, I have been searching for a free or one time reasonable way to apply it to a batch of photos for a slide show.

Unfortunately, that is a very common request from users and it would be relatively simple to add to the art app, but Samsung doesn't seem to be interested in improving the experience. You can add frames to pictures in Photoshop, but you're still going to have to work one picture at a time.I believe. There are also some framing apps available but again I don't know if you can create a default frame using any of these apps. Here's a partial list:
YouCam Perfect: Best Free Photo Frame App
InFrame: Best App with Digital Picture Frames
Meitu: Best App for Selfie Photo Frames
Framify: Best for Classic Picture Frames
PicFrame: Best for Photo Collage Frames
Picsart: Best Picture Frame App for Customization
Framic: Best Photo Frame Editor for iOS Users
PhotoDirector: Best Digital Photo Frame App
Others include Image Framer, Mat Maker, and MatteFrame. If you find anything among these that would be helpful to the community please tell us about it.
I just tried Mat Maker and it will produce some wonderful mats for your pictures -- infinite color range for both primary mat and accent mat, a variety of textures, and the ability to save with the proper dimensions for the Frame. But, even though it can be fairly quick after you get the hang of it, there is still no way that I can see to set global defaults for a group of pictures. Try it out and see what you think. I'm going to try to get hold of the author with this request.
