Distorted screen

our Samsung smart  Tv  think it’s the ue43600 model, recently sporadically becomes distorted at the bottom of the screen  possibly in the middle too

we turn off tv, back on again, and it goes

is it the screen ?

Its the screen. Get the unit replaced FOC, or request a full refund.

Thank you very much. I did phone Samsung but as we bought it from Currys in feb 2018, they told me it’s out of warranty and nothing they can do. Can I take this further?

Not really.
Unless you bought the extended warrant from Curry's.
