Changes to the way you connect Samsung Galaxy mobile devices to PCs

DeX for PC is no longer supported on Galaxy devices running One UI 7 or later. Instead, you can use Link to Windows to wirelessly make calls, reply to texts, and access certain apps directly from your Windows computer. This feature provides a seamless way to stay connected across your devices.

Note: For those using One UI 6, DeX for PC is still available, but note that technical support will no longer be provided.

Why switch to Link to Windows?

Link to Windows helps you achieve new levels of synergy by allowing you to manage messages, apps, and tasks from a single PC screen. With features like Recent Apps and Recent Websites, you can easily access the apps and web searches you recently used on your phone, directly on your computer.

Thanks for explaining this, phone app streaming is still poor on phone link, can this be improved? There are 3rd party alternatives which offer better experience i.e. faster screen response. Also RCS support for messages in Phone Link.

I used to love Dex. Make your phone a PC interface in a larger screen. It's a really big bad decision by Samsung. Bring back Dex

Correct me if I'm wrong here, I thought Dex would still works, but not connecting to a PC. So we can still connect to a compatible TV or monitor?

FirstI love DeX and a big reason why I moved to Samsung.
This is OK, BUT you can't freely resize windows in link to window...
I use link to Windows daily but get annoyed that the window form factor is locked (mostly portrait for most app).
Use case #1 ; browsing the Internet from the phone via link to window. The Internet app is locked in portrait mode and doesn't use the massive PC screen. (I browse personal stuff from my phone, not work PC browser).
Use case #2 to minimize the music stream app to a small player size (small horizontal rectangle).
PLEASE make the windows freely resizeable.

Also, Link to Windows app are streamed in low resolution... difficult to do graphics, pictures,RDP etc using Link to Window.

Yes that is right, but if someone is on their laptop doing work and want to check something from their phone or open excel files from the phone Dex, it was much better on Dex on windows instead of tv

Please bring back dex, it is very useful and far better than Phone link.
