Hi All,

I have Samsung QE55Q70R TV connected to HW Q80R soundbar via HDMI/Anynet+. It worked like this several weeks but this night without any changes on my side it stopped working. I just switched it off in the evening and it was ok and in the morning TV doesn't see the soundbar.
TV is also connected to WiFi.
Antnet+ on TV is on.

What I did (nothing helped):

Switching anynet on tv off/on.

Switching anynet in a soundbar off/on.
Factory reset both TV and soundbar.
Power off for some time (removing plug from a socket)
Disconnecting HDMI cable
Connecting via another HDMI cable

I have another simpler samsung soundbar I used with this TV before, so I tried to connect it instead of a new one but it wasn't recognised as well. So most probably it is a pb of a TV.

Soundbar is connected to a network and is visible to SmartThings app on both my phone and TV, it even says it is connected via anynet/hdmi in its properties.

Currently I connected it via an an optical cable. Sound works and I can change volume from TV remote. But interestingly, while samsung says it should also power it on/off via auto power link, this doesn't work, I have so use soundbar's remote to power it.

Any ideas? I thought it could be a software setting which can be fixed without applying for the warranty.

Thanks!

Hi @ElDog,

Did you try connecting the soundbar through another HDMI-port as well? You could also try resetting the TV and check if there is a software update available.

The problem with HDMI/ARC seems very common for Samsung TVs. There are 2 angry threads in US and EU support zones. Currently I solved it by using an advice from one of these threads: left both components unplugged from powed for a whole night. The problem may appear later but for now it is solved.

And yes, both components are updated to the latest firmware.

Would be nice if Samsung put some attention to it though not much hope if that huge threads didn't attract any attention.

Okay, let me know if the issue reoccurs again. Perhaps we can try a deep reset from a distance.
