USB-c to hdmi not working with tab s5e?

I just bought a tab s5e solely to download movies on disney plus to watch offline because I only have 1.5 internet  speeds and cant stream. The adapter I have works just fine with my note 10 but for some reason isnt working with this tablet.  Everything I've read so far seems to point to this tablet being capable of working with the adapter. I'm not sure if I'm missing a step or maybe it's a faulty tablet?

Hi! I have the same problem.
I use a Hoo-Too Hub, via USB-C, which has USB connectors and HDMI. 
When plugging mouse and keyboard it works perfect, but, when plugging any screen on the HDMI a leyend tell me to check the HDMI connection. It doesn´t appears anything on the monitor/TV.
