Tab S7 not detecting Headphones connected using USB C to 3.5mm adapter

When I connect my 3.5mm jack earphones using USB C to 3.5mm adapter, tab S7 says The connected USB device isn't supported and Headphones won't work at all. While OTG just works fine

Unfortunately that doesnt make any difference in my case. I have a Galaxy Tab s7.  Strange that  yours was on by default.

Mine was with Tab S6 but same issue, Tab S5e adapter wouldn't work with Tab S6. Walmart has an Onn brand USB-C to 3.5mm adapter that works perfectly for me at a whopping cost of $4.95. A bit cheaper than any option on Amazon.

I found a fix for my tab s7fe!
I restarted my tablet with heaphones connected and then it reconsided it.

Occasionally your tablet will not detect the headphones properly. it will be necessary to empty the cache of the USB-c port. With this in mind, go through the instructions cited below:

go to Preferences on your Samsung Galaxy Tab S7+ tablet
Applis
System apps
USB Setting to clear cache
Headphones not compatible with your Samsung Galaxy Tab S7+
You have a message appearing » the connected USB device is not supported when plugging in your headphones. Have you tested using the USB earphones delivered when you purchased your Samsung Galaxy Tab S7+. Generally they are a incompatibility between your tablet and the headset. Try to buy a helmet or some usb-c wired headphones compatible on your Samsung Galaxy Tab S7+. Otherwise switch to wireless

Do not hesitate to use a toothpick or a pin and dust off the USB-c socket, at times too many impurities prevent a good connection between the plugs. Perform this cleaning gently so as not to damage your port.

Not all USB-c to jack adapters will be compatible on your tablet. First try plugging in another pair of headphones to see if the problem is with your adapter or your headphones. If all this comes from your adapter, use one that is fully compatible with your Samsung Galaxy Tab S7+, such as the Ugreen adapter USB-c to 3.5mm jack.

Check the headphone jack and volume buttons on the phone or tablet. Use the volume up and down keys to make sure they’re working. You should also inspect the headphone jack on the phone or tablet with a flashlight and make sure there are no debris or bent pins. If the pins are bent, service is required.

It used to be as simple as plugging in your USB adaptor, plugging in your 3.5mm to the adaptor and it would then read the new output source.  My guess it that they messd this up in an update.  I found a workaround, albiet an annoying one. 

1. Go to: 

         Settings -> Sounds and Vibration -> Seperate App Sound

2.   Turn on the option for Sepereate App Sound

3.   Go to Audio Device

4.   Select Tablet

5.   Back out and then select App

6.   Select desired App to play through 3.5mm

7.  Plug in adaptor

8.  Plug in 3.5 mm

9. Play sounds as desired

This must be done every time you diconnect the jack.  It is annoying, but at least it's working at the momment.  If I find a better soloution I will update
