Tab A 8inch LTE qr reader

I have read that I can use Samsung internet as a qr reader and have set it up.  But the home screen is for my phone provider so I can't get to a page to read them.  Can anyone help please?  I have also tried simply pointing the camera at them but it does nothing.

Do you mean a QR code scanner?

Newer models have a QR code scanner build into the camera, older models might require a special QR Code scanner app that's downloadable though the appstore.

Yes I mean that.  How do I activate it?  I have tried pointing it at them and taking a photo, but nothing happens.
