Samsung tab a (2016) software problem

Hi all, just got a samsung tab a, 9.7. 2016 model. Was working fine and then onscreen keyboard stopped working. Then froze. Did a hard reset and now tablet wont get past the searching for updates screen after connecting to internet. Also onscreen keyboard still doesnt work. Any help appreciated
