Try via smart switch on PC if you have one but also make sure you have enough free space on the device in the first place

I have same problem. Repeat, no joy. Been this way since Mar 2022. Tablet was purchased January.  Took it to the t-mobile store. Same. They thought it was a bad update. Apparently Not. Anyone out there have a solution?

Don't force it to update.  My S7 tablet (aka sm-t870...) just became a brick all because I let it update.  So maybe just use it and if something doesn't work in the future, then let it update?  I'm not having any luck with support to get my tablet back either.

I had this issue, my tablet is set up to download updates over wifi only. Strangely it would say there was an update but when I went to download it would not start the download and the time to complete would show as --:-- etc. The moment that I connected the tablet to my phones hot spot the download started even though the setting was still switched on to download over wifi only. I think this is some kind of glitch with that setting, well it certainly was for me. Samsung should look into this as it could be impacting lots of users who probably have this setting on and would only normally connect via WI-FI. Strangely at the same time I had an issue where I could not load any videos via the sky go app. But as soon as I had updated and switched back to my WI-FI this was all working fine.
