Paint chipping

Ive had this tablet for probably 2 years now id say and ive noticed that in the bottom corners by the charging port the paint is chipping. Ive also noticed this on the back too but in little amounts, unlike the bottom. I dont have a case for my tablet and i feel as though the paint is chipping due to me holding it by the corners all the time. Although, i read somewhere that it can be a bad charger which is causing the fluid to leak and paint to chip. Someone please help 🙏

Hey @cacti. I'm sorry to hear you're having some problems with the tablet. Can you share the link to where you've read this, as it's not something that I've come across? If you can also send some pictures of the issue, that would be helpful.

I would say normal wear and tear, by the sounds of it. I'm not too sure what you mean by "liquid"? If you mean the battery liquid (acid), you would absolutely know by now (expanding, heat, smell, etc.).

*Side note—please always try to use official chargers/known brands.

If you're worried, I would say contact customer support to confirm.

I read about the battery fluid on the google ai overview. I don,t usually look at the ai overview that much but i was a bit panicked. I will try to attach a picture but this is the only device i use so i will get someone else to take pictures and send them to me. Thank you for all your help 🙏

With the battery thing, the tablet isnt expanding nor is it smelling weird. Although when i charge it the charger gets incredibly hot. Also my own brand samsung charger that came with it broke within the first few months of me having it, so might have to get a new one but im not sure to look. I tried going on amazon to find one but i was a bit wary in case it wasnt actually samsung. I will attach pictures soon and thank you for your help ☺️

Go to the Samsung Members app > Support > Diagnostics. Does the device pass all checks?

Getting hot isn't too much of a concern, as the device will warn you and shut off if critical.

I would highly suggest getting a Samsung charger from samsung.com or a brand like Anker.
