In the previous iteration of software the notification panel blurred the background / covered the full screen, after the update to ui8 the notification panel does not have this feature is there a way to get this feature back?

Install the Good lock app from the galaxy store and install Quickstar module. Look for the option to style your own quick panel. There might be options to adjust blur level transparency, and color of various elements of the notification panel.
Havent used quickstar to customize my quick panel myself, but Good lock is the app for customizing 👍

Unfortunately there is no option for background blur and transparency that covers the fullscreen. The apps only affect the ui8 notification panel (good lock and theme park).

Use Quickstar. You can adjust the transparency. 1763153976490.jpg

I am using a tablet and the notification panel does not have a fullscreen blur option. That setting in quickstar only applies to the transparency of the panel itself and not the background.

On the left there's the OneUI7 quick panel, while on the right, the new OneUI8 one.

Why did Samsung remove blur?

The device in question is Tab S9FE and it has never had any issues with blur rendering, so I wonder why did Samsung remove it... to make our tablets feel cheaper? There's no excuse, the S9FE could render the blur without any problem: no lag no stutter, just smoothness.

I am really disappointed this time.

Please Samsung give us the blur again.

I would send feedback under support, let the developers know. I do know you will be able to customize the quick panel in one ui 8.5. You never know the more feedback they get they may bring it back 🤞

I agree it's very hard on the eyes without the blur. Makes it look buggy I hope they release it back in the new update

Totally agree, man. The blur made the quick panel look premium and modern. My S9 FE was buttery smooth with it, no lag at all, so removing it in One UI 8 feels like a cheap cost-cutting move. Really hope Samsung brings it back with a toggle at least. Looks flat and boring now. 😑
