Hi there 👋, and welcome.
Are you looking for upgrade to a new Samsung tablet or you want to update your 2016 a6 model? If you want to update with software updates its no longer supported unfortunately and therefore you won't be able to receive updates or apps won't be supported on your tablet in this case I suggest to upgrade to new tablet, there's plenty good ones out there depending on your budget if that's the case.

Hey there and welcome to the Samsung UK and EU Community Customer to Customer Forum

I too have the A6 2016 tablet which I bought from Vodafone in 2016. At the time it came with 2 x OS updates and 3 years security patch updates (in the last year these were quarterly). Sadly support ended in 2019 and there is no chance of further updates for this device.

I would advise against using the device for any sensitive tasks such as banking apps, payments where you input card or bank details and for me I wouldn't even access a website where I have to enter a password (but that's just me, super security conscious).

Would be fine for watching YouTube etc or for the kids to play games on perhaps.

I have a Tab A SM-T 510 tablet. I think it must have been purchased prior to 2016. It works fine but desperately needs a new case. The online search has only given 2019 plus and having purchased one they don't fit. Anyone have any ideas please.?
