I have a Galaxy Tab S8 which I'm trying to update to the latest version of Android/One UI, which according to documentation is Android 14. However when I check for updates in the Settings screen, it says my device is already up to date. Can anybody give advice on resolving this issue and updating to the latest version of the software please?

I don't have the chance to do so just now, but next time I have access I'll attempt the update using smart switch.

Your tablet was released in Feb 2022. So could be the original firmware build but I can't find any details of that build number, at least not for this tablet. So, It seems you have a 1st generation December 2021 firmware build, but heaven knows where from.

Try hooking up to a PC using the supplied cable and use Smartswitch to try and force an update.

I've just tried to use smart switch, on connecting I'm not given any option to update and the "device information" tab tells me that it's up to date with "UL9".

I'm getting suspicious that I've just wasted money on some kind of defective unit..

Yes, I agree. Are you able to register the serial number with Samsung online? Suspect here that the tablet may have been flashed with a custom firmware. UL9 is December 2021 1st gen build #9 but can't find any details about it.

Thanks again for all your help, I've contacted the seller in the hopes of getting a refund.

Good move. Fingers crossed for you. It's definitely not an OEM firmware build. I wouldn't be surprised if it was a non UK model as well.
