A few weeks ago, my power button started to nor respond properly - it would work when I pressed it down hard at certain angles, but the fingerprint sensor continued to work normally.

Last week however, the power button stopped working, leaving my tablet switched off with no way to turn it on. After asking for an out of warranty repair quote, I realised that the money I would spend to repair both is half the price of a new one.

Now my question is, is there a way to turn the tablet on long enough to extract all the data? Or will I be forced to repair at least the power button in order for it to turn on

I know this is a bit late, but I hope you've found a solution to your problem. However, I wanted to share my experience in case it helps someone else. I faced the same issue with the power button on my Galaxy Tab S7.

If you're struggling to turn your device on, try plugging it into a charger. In many cases, this will automatically power the device back on. Once it's on, you can avoid using the power button by enabling the "Double tap to turn screen on and off" feature. Here's how:

*Open Settings

*Select Advanced Features

*Go to Motions and Gestures

*Enable Double Tap: Turn on the Double tap to turn screen on and off options.

This way, you can wake and lock the screen without needing the power button. Hope this helps anyone else dealing with the same issue!

Hey, thanks for the reply.

Unfortunately, since the post, I've had no luck with the repair shop - they even claimed the motherboard was cooked and the chances of recovering the data on my tablet were slim.

Now it's gathering dust in a cabinet, and I'm waiting to buy a newer model in the next few weeks.
