Hello,

I am looking for a tablet for note taking. It needs to be around 8" in size, as my Tab S7 is too large for this task. The only 8" I see in Samsung's lineup is the Tab A9. I know that it does not come with its own stylus, but can it be used with a third-party one, like the one from the S7 or the Kindle Scribe's?

I just got a Samsung Tab 9+, 11" which didn't come with a Stylus but but the person who set up my plan said they have a 3rd party stylus that works. Upon searching, I saw a $27 one with EMR & it is "supposed" to work with the 9+. I see others that use capacitive technology. They are cheaper. So I may get one of those. But the EMR one blocks it from registering if you rest your palm on the screen. That sounds much more intuitive. If it works. Anyone?

Hi, just wondering did you find a stylus that works well on the A9+ ? If so what brand/model/ site? Interested in one more for games but whatever works. Thanks for any info.

Hi, I have samsung A9  tablet, too. 8" compact size. Today I bought a TypeC rechargeable universal stylus pen at average quality and feature, I only expect it to work as a finger, not having ultra drawing specifications . And I tested on my samsung note lite 10 phone and it worked well as a high sensitive finger as it's own Spen quality, After I tried it on A9 tablet and it failed. First when I tilt it tab respond some movements. After I watched youtube videos, I tried to make the tablet recognize the pen by touching every where , it was silly, but I tried my chance. It worked at some angels but not properly, after I install an app from Google play to make the pen connect to tab. Some brand's own pen setup app,I was just trying to heck the tab, It said connect your pen to tab by cable, and i made the connection by typeC cable one end in pen's charge socket, the other end in tab's, . App  didn't respond for further settings  of course and I closed it, but tab responded well. Now when I connect the pen to Samsung A9 tab by TypeC cable it works as the way it should be, as a perfect finger, same performance as on the phone. 😁 when I disconnect the cables, it  sometimes works sometimes just with a tilt. So the question is, what's the difference between tablet and phone touching settings?  Pen works well as an alternate  finger on phone, on tablet only by cable connection, in short problem is not on hardware part it is on software part, some settings or adjustments or disable/ enable issue. Let's  find out!!! And if there is a solution already all around, please let me know,

Just to confirm with everyone.
Universal pen is not working since latest updates. It works with an angle of ~45.

Samsung can you please fix it with our a9 plus?

I have just purchased an A9+ Tablet and am trying it out. I have an Addonit Dash pen which is working well on the tablet. However, it is clear to me the A9+ has not software support for Hand writing recognition. It seems Samsung reserves this for the S series devices. For me this is quite disappointing and I am contemplating sending this machine back to Amazon and looking for an S series that I can afford. I should have purchased the S6 on the Secret Sale a week ago 😞
