Dear all,

I'm trying to connect the Tab A9+ tablet on internet using an RJ45 connector (ethernet cable) with USB-C connection on the tablet and the use of Wifi at the same time.
I have a Type-C Multi-function docking connector with an RJ-45 socket to plug in an ethernet cable to be on the network.

I'd like to use WiFi to connect to an instrument at the same time .
If I start up the tablet, the connection to the network works fine (the wifi is off). As soon as I switch on the wifi and connect to the instrument (which only communicates via wifi), the network is no longer available.

Can you suggest any solutions?

Thanks for your answer and help

I don't know enough about the instrument, but if it's wifi enabled, then connect it to you wifi on you router.

If you connect you phone to same network wifi it should be able to see the instrument

You won't need to connect separately for Internet access as the router handles all the traffic and network devices

OKay let's go to be precise.

I use a evscope from unistellar :

It's a telescope that can only be used via wifi and with an application that only works on Android.
I'd like to do parallel searches on the internet at the same time with chrome for example.
The two together don't work: I have to disconnect from the instrument to reconnect to the ethernet connection (router).

I've also done the test with a 4G mobile connection and I'm having the same problem, even if I change some options inside the development options.

I don't quite understand why you can't use both at the same time.

Propositions ?

Is it because the ethernet connection has "priority" over WiFi
If I use an ethernet cable on my laptop, it physically shuts off the WiFi connection

OK but it is not laptop, but a tablet with Android. There's probably a solution for using both at the same time. The idea is also to control the tablet remotely.

Samsung does not allow simultaneously use of wifi and mobile data at the same time on any tablets. If you use a Samsung phone it does. Both running Android 14 UI 6.1. Tablets never have. If you need to use both wifi and mobile data a Apple iPad works.

As I said I don't know enough about the telescope and wifi it uses

Why would it not allot for wifi to connect to the telescope and Internet?

Is it connecting you phone directly? Not over WiFi network?
