Charging problem with tablet

Last night I put my tablet on a charger and then it repeatedly showed the lightning bolt with no percent then it went blank,I then took the charger out and put it back in same result.Then i tried again then got a triangle with a water drop and I have not had my tablet anywhere near water.I turned it on to see if it is charging and I found out that it was charging but the display when charging when it was off was messed up.Is there anyway to fix this issue because it was charging normally yesterday morning.

@dc1182: Please can you confirm the model number and current Android version of your tablet, located in Settings > About Tablet. Are you using the plug adapter and cable that came packaged with the device, and do you have access to another charger that you can try to see if the issue persists? Does the cable feel loose at all when it is connected to the tablets charging port?
