Hi,
I was wondering if anyone knows when Samsung is planning to release the Android Pie (9.0) update for the Galaxy Tab S4? The tablet itself is great but there are many great features in 9.0, such as the much improved task manager considering the current implementation feels very cramped. Gesture based navigation and adaptive battery life improvements also come to mind.

@dabbles5 Well I don't have the Tab S4 but I have the Tab A 10.5 which also got the pie update (very recently). I can tell you that Pie does use more ram, but my device has 3 gb of ram and runs ok (I have a worse processor because it's a mid range tablet). With your tab S4's 4gb of ram it shouldn't make a difference much for you. A small issue I've noticed is that profile pictures for pretty much everything look a little pixelated but not a big deal for me. Other than that the update looks pretty nice and runs pretty well. I recommend backing up EVERYTHING before the update as you never know what could happen (just to be safe). The update is great and the design is completely different in a lot of areas.

Ya should really get that 9.0 pie update. Its really user friendly. Its like going to the Car Dealership and them telling you. There's an update free of charge that will boost Horse power and performance. After the update your vechile will ask you how you want to drive today. Feel like cursing or driving bat out of He Hell

It's July. Telstra is the only people who have it while there is no generic update. How can Samsung put one telco over everyone else, including themselves? I'm disgusted. Apple release updates in one go, even if you want to release slowly, how do you release in one country to one telco only? Is it a bribe? With their top spec unit, they do this?
Disgusting.

Ha, Samsungs support is horrendous in ideal circumstances.
Delighted to see this tablet is at last getting an Extremely past due update, however Samsung are getting somewhat of a terrible rep in different divisions of late. They have been dreary for some time.
Charge apple costs however miss the mark in numerous areas.
So many items, so many problems...One day I will learn!

@Mubeentariq My god, you're excited about an update that came out 5 years ago.

So are you using the Tab S4. I still have mine. Don't use it anymore. I cut it on every three months or so to update it. So how you like it. Does it still runs good on Android pie? You should upgrade to S8 or S9 Ultra. It's a game changer as it now has AI. I have the S8 Ultra and I love the 14.6 Amoled screen. Samsung is always giving credit for trade in. Like right now Samsung is doing a promotion trade in. They giving a trade in credit of $150 towards the S9. And the tab S9 Fe is $349 after $100 trade in. Like for me I paid $800 after i traded in my S7+ for $600 a couple years back.

@Tiger I only recently got rid of my Tab S4... gave it away as an excuse to upgrade to an S9 plus. Even back in the day the S4 seemed a bit of a dog, but it was ok for basic stuff. No such problem with the S9 plus, it's a powerful beast. Perhaps I should have got the Ultra, not sure. There's advantages to every size... I recently also got an A9 8" and I really enjoy the portability, I can squeeze it in my pocket and use it like a phone.
