I've recently started getting popup ads from adchoices on my s7 edge.

I've tried all sorts of apps to try and remove them or stop them popping up.

I've been told they are legitimate adds placed by Google in software.

But they do interfere with the operation of the phone.

For instance if you are recording video it will stop the recording if an add pops up.

Or if you are using a banking app you will have to log back in if and add apears.

Is there anyway to remove this addware.

I'm sure level of intrusion adchoices produces is not legal.

I wish I could say mine was related to peel remote but, I don't have that on my Samsung S9+. It is related to the phone trying to remember what things you like and it overloads the phone with this garbage. I am so pissed off because it is getting worse every day. I saw the tab but unfortunately, there is no program listed so how do I get rid of something I don't have the program name for? Samsung this should be voluntary and I don't want it.

I did a search and was directed to settings where I could opt out of pop-ups. Try optout.about ads.info. i was able to opt out of 130 companies, fingers crossed. I also went to google settings ads and there is an opt out feature. This is on my Samsung s9+. Good luck.

Hi all. :smiling-face-with-sunglasses:

Might be worth checking out this guide on ads we've got on our UK website.

Only way to stop adchoices is to uninstall the app that supports it. All the other ***** to get rid of it doesn't work, especially opting out. Its all bull*****! I did all of the options to stop it, and they kept coming. So when the adchoice pops up (even though I didn't open anything), i pushed my multi window button and saw that it was one of my apps that displayed adchoices. This app i didn't know i had. Once i uninstalled it. No more ads! Its been a few months and nothing. Witch kinda sucks because if you want a certain app and this app supports adchoices, you have to be forced to deal with adchoices or delete your favorite app.

I beg to differ with you. My offending app is Samsung Internet which has been uninstalled from my S7 edge. I also removed any data files that were left behind after the uninstall. I even went as far as reinstalling the app and opting out of adchoices, then uninstalling it again. I STILL get full page ads as soon as I open my phone! It all started after the oreo update, but it is definitely Samsung related. I've decided to root and roll back to nougat to verify my theory. Good luck all!

Solved it on my device.  I would get adchoice ads that would take over the full screen at random times and increase the volume.  After going to DAA and adchoice and opting out (which didn't work) I went back and looked at all the apps I had recently installed, none stood out.  So here is what I did- Please note my device is a Pixel 2.

  1. I waited for an ad to pop-up once it did I just let it sit there until it closed by itself
  2. Opened the phone settings
  3. Selected "Apps and Notifications"
  4. Listed there was the most recent app used at 0 minutes (maybe 1 minute depending on how fast you are)
  5. Take note of the app in the list that you did not used and dont have notifications for at the top of your screen
  6. Uninstall that app

That is what worked for me.  If you are uncertain just wait for another add to pop-up and repeat the process just to be sure.

I agree. I am ready to go back to Apple products after months of trying to fix this pop up problem.
