I have just added a second conexis L1 smart lock to my smartthings account. Does it automatically appear in the smartthings account that I share with family members or do I need to send them an invite like I did when I installed the first lock.

It should show in your family members smartthings app. You will need to give them access in the Yale Smart Living App though.
