Samsung refunded my Galaxy Store purchase without reason

Not sure if this is the correct section but today I was informed by my bank that I had been refunded £7.99 from BB-Samsung. Upon investigating, I found that this payment was made by myself back on 28/01/24 and used alongside my £30 Galaxy Store Voucher that I received for purchasing the S24. I used this total of £37.99 to purchase V-Bucks from the Epic Games store on Fortnite. Today I was notified on Fortnite that my 5000 V-Bucks have been refunded and thus they have removed an equal amount in cosmetics from my account.

I have NEVER requested a refund for this purchase (which was over 4 months ago now). Nor have I received any form of e-mail or reasoning to say why this has happened. Does anyone know what I can do to fix this? I have tried to speak to someone regarding the issue but do not seem to be able to find the correct place and the chat bot wasn't very helpful. It is also very strange that I have randomly received a refund over 4 months later without requesting anything, and without any receipt or confirmation.

Your the second one on here reporting of a refund in connection with the Fortnite app.
Seems not to be a trustworthy app in that case.

Strange. Have used Fortnite for years on PC and Xbox devices for purchases and this is the only one that has come back.

I've had this happen to me last night. Strangely, it's the same amount. Thinking back, I did contact someone at the time because buying vbucks off the Samsung fortnite store was £10 deerer than from the fortnite store on the xbox. Maybe that's the issue and we're getting refunded because of it. At the time, I was told that's just the price through the Samsung version of fortnite.

Yeah same thing has happened to me, refunded £7.99 but I never requested any refund. It deducted 5000 V-Bucks from my account too which is strange. No idea how to get that back and not sure if that's just wasted the voucher that i got with my phone (S24 Ultra)

Yeah, I remember it did cost more on the Samsung Store. Strange if they're refunding due to that without any notice to us, as all it has done is made me lose out and not benefit me at all as my voucher is now used.

Very strange isn't it. I've sent a ticket and I'm waiting for a response. If I do manage to sort it I'll post here, so at least maybe we can all get something back and not be out of V-Bucks.

Had a reply from Samsung today, and they're blaming Epic. Epic said it was requested by Samsung so something doesn't add up on one of the sides.

Seems I'll just be out of my £30 voucher and 5000 V-Bucks. Annoying, but just ensures I'll never make a purchase on the Store again.

I would press on Samsung to return the voucher back to you as you never requested the refund

Final update if it helps anyone. Samsung responded to my second request, and it was them who requested the refund. This is due to incorrect pricing in the store, which caused V-Bucks to be priced at £37.99 instead of £27.99.

They offered no sympathy and no chance of a new voucher. So out of pocket like I originally thought. Bummer, but at least now I know why and will avoid Samsung in the future.
