As you can disable commenting/delete/hide comments on your own videos, I'm assuming you mean hiding comments on videos generally. Rumour was that they were testing something like that back in 2019: https://www.cnet.com/tech/mobile/youtube-comments-hidden-by-default-in-new-test-by-the-video-site/
