Samsung Members Stars 2025 - Testing perks, testing, testing

One of the many perks of being of the top 0.01% Superusers on the Community is to pick any products available for a full hands on, testing, share, swap, review, repeat, but also importantly ensure we have the ability to not only share our views but also provide help, solutions across a variety of the Samsung product range.

So before anyone asks, how 🤔 simples, be as active as you can, authentic, helpful, respectful, join conversations, gets lots of virtual community badges, work your way up the ranks and then if the planets align, you maybe one of the chosen ones 😉 

Sadly for me I pretty much own everything on offer 🫡 so only elected to have a second got with the Smart Ring (bought my own a few months ago, but returned it as was too tight, in particular when sleeping) , but now two larger sizes.

So hopefully next week expect another post from me and other stars sharing.

What about software testing? ONE UI 9?

Wow, people are still awaiting UI7 😂

The beta stuff doesn't interest me, been there before and it was to much FoMo with each build iteration, lots of bugs and NEVER the real end product.

Last year a few EU Stars asked about it, but still a USA and South Korea thing.

Being one of those stars you mention 🌟... it is somewhat appropriate to share my short story.

I joined this community quite a long time ago back in 2017, whilst searching for answers to my own technical questions. My very first post was about the usage of the Galaxy s3 frontier watch.

Quickly, i found this community to be a fantastic resource to help with any questions I had about usage of my devices and for any things I didnt know. In fact BandofBrothers ❤... was one of the first kind souls to help me out on here.

Soon after I had found this community, I felt inspired to also try to help out. As I learned new things and other users also had similar questions, I started to 'pay it forward'. Knowledge sharing is a great way to be helpful.

A number of years passed. I didnt have any motives other than to log into the community occasionally and if there was any information I could add then I did. I also learned a lot more myself along the way.

Fast forward to last year and receiving an invitation to join this exclusive group of star members. We have since had a few group meet ups and trips, to help with team building, and as @Obsidian mentions, with some additional opportunities to test some devices and be a part of the test team.

Just to iterate, we all generally have our own full time day jobs, and contrary to belief we are NOT employees of samsung... and nor are our opinions influenced by samsung. However we are all on here for our passion of Samsung products, and hence we have a lot in common in our team.

The community are always looking out for 'stand out people' that go out of their way to be helpful. So be a proactive member of the community and it may well pay off... as it did for me.

As a team we monitor the problems and one or other of us will try and help in a timely manner. We do give up our time for free to give some good advice to the community.

So that is my short story to date... feel free to say hi, and we all appreciate a friendly tone... even if you are upset with Samsung. Just remember we are only messengers and our own opinions are not the 'official' response from Samsung... just the best advice we feel we can offer from ourselves. 👍 😀

The problem nowadays is that people don't know what they want.

Let's look at the cameras. They were nagging about natural colors and that Samsung has too saturated color science. Now they are praising other manufacturers for their oversaturated and contrasted pictures.

They were moaning about big camera bumps in time of Nokia 1020 and 808, and now they think Vivos, Xiaomis and Oppos have great design.

This needs pinning, buddy, I forget the number of people, none of the people who think we are paid Samsung types, heck at the moment my count of this is biased to Samsung employees, but my secret weapon to answer that question and the what is a SMS is "ask TM Roh" 🔥 we meet him at Unpacked events.

Our senior SMS stars, like the last @BandOfBrothers and @JAMES4578 in my 13 years on this community, we're and still are what it means to be an SMS, nice, polite, helpful, informative and welcoming 🙏 👍

I always wind up other camera obsessed SMS who photoshop photos, but another @Glenntech was concise, "every camera adds, takes something just like editing apps, software".

Back to your point and memories of Unpacked S24U, it is clear everyone has a different perspective of what makes a good picture. Me I like to point, shoot and let the device do it's thing and job done, but as mentioned others get OTT about details I would not notice or care about.

Conversely, when it come to Audio Quality, most rate Spotify 320kps as great quality, which as an Audiophile makes me nauseous 🤢

We are all different, want, see, hear, express different thought, in Product development you can never please all the people all the time.

Most camera bumps have become washing machine door bumps, like the Xiami 😂
