There are always offers at different times
You take a chance buying when you do.
Can always wait until an offer comes up. Usually if you wait a couple of months after launch, offers start getting good

I don't remember the dates but if you ordered early you get £100 play credit, you have to claim it though

This can be annoying 😂, especially if you pre-ordered. But I think they find a way to balance it up, e.g they probably wouldn't get a free strap like those that pre-ordered did

I preordered mine for a cracking deal, discount code, App discount code, £100 Google credit and decent trade in, free strap, much better than simply £75 off. As others have said, it depends when you are looking to order, I'm guessing in a year it will be much cheaper still so honestly depends.

Sure i saw on a recent offer (can't find it) that Samsung was offering a John Lewis style, if you find it cheaper we will refund the difference.

Actually, John lewis scrapped that.

Ok so if you took that view every time you wanted to shop, you wouldn't buy anything, ever.

Every retailer offers promotions and offers from time to time. I bet had the price gone up you wouldn't have complained (or paid the difference).

As mentioned above, there were big pre-order discounts which far outweighed the £75 discount you referred to.

What offers were you given or did you simply pay full price?

As others have mentioned offers and prices can and will change.

This obviously isn't limited to Samsung.com 

I known people send their item back for a refund if within the cooling off period,  to then purchase the item again at the lesser price.
