So I though I would post about my experiences now I’m on the other side of the fence and this won’t be biased despite me being so cross with Samsung (customer service might be a little bit biased though 😂

so firstly the phone I had an s23 ultra (s24 ultra for a day for those who don’t know but it was faulty) now I have an iPhone 15. I had to get the base model due to me being in a rush for my phone and Samsung holding my trade in and my money. Anyway for the phone it’s a very close call. I will be talking mainly about my experience than comparing the products as all high and Samsungs and iPhones are pretty good. It’s going to be too much for me to write in detail and for you to read so I’m just going to summarise.

The phones. The iPhone has better durability & build quality and this bearing in mind the iPhone is the base 15 and the s23 ultra was the top line. The galaxy has more software features and you generally get more for your money. Apple integrates the software much better with accessories which I will mention shortly and it’s so refreshing to have one app for everything and not 2. iOS is more fluid and very refined, however Samsung is more fun and I got to say probably still a bit more stable although I haven’t had an major issues on the iPhone just minor cosmetic glitches.
so for the phones I would say if you want and easy phone to use and you just use the core features the iPhone wins. It also takes much better pictures on a point and shot bases and has more options. However if you want fun features and probably the most stable phone on the planet Samsung is good. It’s just let down by terrible quality control and customer service which is actually why I’m on iPhone. Nothing to do with the product just the service. No clear winner with the phones but just due to build and customer service the iPhone only just takes the edge here but if Samsung  made its phones properly it could actually still be Samsung for me.

headphones this is an easy one. I would say Samsung headphones used to win apart from being very itchy. The new buds pro 2 however are just awful so the air prods pro 2 simply win this end of. They are comfy and have balanced sound.

watches. Again very easy. Samsung watches need a lot of work. I had 5 pro which was Samsungs best. It was laggy featureless and just simply didn’t work properly half the time. It was a lovely build though and had great battery. The Apple Watch is fast fluid and the aod adapts to what you doing you don’t just have dark and very dark. So I’m sorry Samsung clear winner here. Apple Watch battery is a little bit ***** though.

tablets I got to say Samsung. Wins here. I have an iPad mini 6 and a galaxy tab s9 ultra and although unfair test  I’m basing it more of experience. With the tablets Samsung gives you so many options like dex and a free pen with most. I actually still have both tablets. The mini is used for just browsing and my tab s9 ultra is my power house and my media monster.

so in summary as a whole you can’t go wrong with either generally speaking Samsung makes more enticing phones if you can bag a good one. Apples line up is more boring but you know it will just work.

Apple makes much better accessory’s headphones and watches are in a different world.

for the tablets most people would argue and say iPad is better but no. iPad is overpriced and poor value. Don’t get me wrong they are good but Samsung brings more to the table here.

software simply Samsungs is more stable and more fun. Apples connects to your life better and is more intuitive.

customer service. Samsung hasn’t got any it’s as simple as that. Apples is very good. I had an issue with apple last time I was with them which was why I ended up on Samsung (I’m always switching) it ended up with me gettigg n a free iPhone which I gave away as I already took delivery of my s23 ultra basically they were great but it was too late. In fairness to Apple though it was Amazon that caused the issue.  Samsung I have been left with a bitter taste in my mouth and I’m 200 pound down and now on a regular phone rather than a pro/ultra because of them. I will be very very scared to purchase any Samsung products in the future which is a shame as I really like them. Where I am now I am happy knowing if my iPhone breaks down they will send one within 24 hours. If I break it I will pay £110 and a phone will be send within 24 hours. With Samsung if your phone is faulty you wait 8 weeks. If it’s faulty mid way through it’s life you have to send for repair despite having care plus that is just poo.

if you got to the end thanks for reading

Ash

It's sad that customers are let down when there are such expensive devices involved and you are expecting to make the most of their features. Samsung is known for quality products full of features and they should make the whole Samsung experience live up to the expectations, but seeing so many complaints on here I feel sad for the lack of support that the customers are getting. Yet I am sure not all customers get bad experience but there are alot of complaints from what I see. Also it's sad when you get a faulty device straight out of the box and you have to wait for a replacement etc really sad. I have never bought straight from Samsung store, I prefer third party retailers because I can get my hands on the Device same day or the next day and product support is the same, if it's faulty they have to send your device to the repairing service or wait for a change of device etc. I have been tempted to wait buy from the Samsung own site but the waiting time was longer and although I was getting the best price from all the other shops for trading in my old device, I would've still have to pay the bulk at the end and that just put me off. I have bought Device Care+ insurance from Samsung for my S24U and I hope I will get the right support if something happens to it. All in all I hope Samsung will learn from this because I see alot of complaints that need to be addressed and Customer Service needs to be improved. Samsung seemed very reliable to be few years ago because I got alot of support with improving my S20U when I wasn't very happy with the screen and performance and they sent a questionnaire for me to answer about what is wrong with my phone and they improved it. So since then I have a very good impression about Samsung support.

Honestly Samsung care + isn’t worth the electricity used to display the email saying you have got it. The fact I had that meant nothing when my phone was faulty. Like I said before with Apple care + you get express replacement within 24 hours and you keep your device till it comes. As for the rest of your comment I agree. The only thing I have noticed over the years is Samsung quality is slipping I have had a fair few faulty units now. They are a 10 out of 10 for design and innovation though and I miss many features I mean even the base ones are fact. Unfortunately I do think it’s the end of Samsung phones for me as without my phone I don’t work and I go under that’s why I’m so angry and vocal on the situation, is just such a same still  reeling from it to be honest. I do like this iPhone a lot and I’m happy but is was only purchased on a customer service bases

Yea it’s a real shame. I don’t think I will be back this time it’s really upset me. I am not ashamed to admit I prefer Samsung devices but I don’t mind my iPhones either. I due to the fact I can get my phone sorted fast that’s why I’m here. Without it I can’t work. Should have gone to Samsung event as I will have no chance now lol they even blocked my members app on tablet lol

Also on a more positive note, I can see all the tech you have but what car do you have?

I get your point and I understand perfectly that you are disappointed. So far I only had Samsung phones because they seemed the most reliable to me and I never needed to use phone cover because evert one of them was working and they survived alot of falling and water accidents quite amazingly and even if some features were falling regarding hardware due to mechanical accidents the software was always untouched and fully working and supported by Samsung via firmware and security updates and the support from the 3rd party apps was always brilliant as well. This phone (S24U) I will disclose where I bought from, which is Currys doesn't have even one single problem, it works perfectly and I don't have any single solid complaint about it, everything that is wrong with it can be solved via firmware upgrades and I am not even stressed about it because I know the issues will be addressed sooner or later. Ive not always had S series, i also had A series back in the early 2010's and those were brilliant for their time too. Usually when I bought a Samsung phone the battery and the camera and the sound sometimes were not brilliant but as soon as I unpacked the phone or within a week the phone was supported with updates and it was turned into a wonder of a phone that I was taking out of my pocket to play with it just to enjoy the features. I understand this phone gets it's updates a bit late because it's packed with features and it was released sooner that it's expected release date but it will catch up. I am very sorry you had bad experience with customer service, I see the problem it's ongoing for quite a while actually but I get a feeling maybe Samsung doesn't actually have enough staff or something, because tech wise I cannot fault them. I had a peak in the IPhone forum and I've seen the same complaints like here so I came to the conclusion that they are just phones after all and some part of getting a good phone and good customer service is based on luck maybe, idk. I am not craving IPhone per se and there is nothing I cannot do with my S24U regarding my phone usage and I can do so much more with this phone, it's such a potential phone tbh and it feels so premium the over all experience.

Yea to be fair Apple has its issue as well but that express replacement service is worth its weight in gold and for me that’s the reason to stay here now. I loved my s23 u but it did have durability issues the paint was coming off at bottom and it had dust in camera. Had this nearly 3 week now and I have one tiny dot on the back glass where I dropped it. And that’s it. Within 3 weeks my ultra had 3 marks on the screen and chips on bottom even though it had only ever been in a pocket. The phone itself was brilliant though and I wish I had just stuck with that. Now I’m stuck with base iPhones forever it seems. I will buy one every 2 years and replace when Apple care expires each time. What’s scary is that if I had waited for a replacement s24 ultra I would still be waiting to this day and would have a further 3 weeks at least from now to receive it. Samsung didn’t help at all. I offered to rebuy but they wouldn’t honor discounts. I offered a different colour even a lower storage or pay more for higher storage. Nope it’s was receive half a refund or wait nearly 6-7 weeks for a replacement. 🙈

1st of all I understand why you left Samsung, as I feel the same. The S24s will turn most of Samsung fans to look for other venues. It's been advertised to take Crystal clear pictures even in low light, 200MP camera etc. 50MP and 200MP are useless and the I. O is to blame for that. The S24U has good features but can't say the same with its cameras. For people have no idea about photography or don't care how their photos look the phone is good. The biggest problem although people you talk are nice is customer service. Like most companies they have some lines with issues that the person on the phone can give you advice but further that that 99% have no idea. As the Software on the Samsung phones is running by Google, I wonder why Google added that Intelligent Disaster on S24s? By the way since last Nov Samsung customer service said, their engineers, or developers will contact me and have to keep my online??!!!?? ( 3 times they said that) But to be fair with them they didn't said what day, month or year

I didn’t have it long enough to try cameras, for me it’s all about how they sort a problem out. Just recently upgraded to iPhone 15 pro max I must admit cameras on that are amazing although zoom could be better. Truth is there is no perfect phone out there but I choose Apple because of the Apple care program and to get replacements fast if you phone is faulty or you run into a problem. I wish the s24 U would have worked out for me but it wasn’t meant to be
