Just checked and all mine was off, now on think I was too lazy to do the write down and keep safe a long recovery key.

Little extra fact about it. Encrypted data doesn't work on "insecure" Samsung devices. I have an a14 as a kinda backup phone, it doesn't support knox or any Samsung security systems. That device isn't able access to my backup and synced data as it cannot securely handle the encryption. "Can't sync because this phone doesn't support data encryption" is the error.

Really nice to see only truly secure devices can use enhanced security features

This is the Google version of it too. It should be on by default but in case it isn't, settings, Google, password manager. Every phone on android 9 and higher can use this

British government fail really. Their request was worldwide so that was never going to happen. WhatsApp and Signal have already stated they would pull their products from the UK if they we're requested to allow access to user data.
