Hello, is anyone really excited or interested in the upcoming AndroidXR devices over the new couple years? I really enjoy my Meta ray bans, but their AI assistant isn't really good compared to Gemini, but I'm really excited for androidXR glasses with the built in screen in the glasses lense shown in the Google stream in June I believe.

I will be 100% purchasing the glasses from Samsung if they release them. The headset is quite interesting also, I would love to hear everyone elses thoughts about it.

For me, it'd be how well it compares to what meta has to offer.

I use headsets linked to my pc to play games and social experiences. Face and eye tracking would make it an instant winner.

Though with how long meta has had to improve their product, I'm unsure how polished a v1 android xr headset would be.

If the samsung headset is decent, it'll be that vs the quest 4 on being my next headset

That's true, I don't actually own a meta vr headset as I own a vavle index, I owned a rift back in the day.

The VR space, meta will probably have the upper hand because of the years they have been in the market. But the glasses space, I think andriod XR could actually win but we will have to see prices and how they have implemented it.

Yeah, that's their headset but I do believe Samsung will most likely also have smart glasses.

I think it will fail like Apples, Samsung had an early start with rudimentary VR headsets and gave up as usual, Meta with RayBans and Oakley have a unique segment of the top sunglass mainstream brands and also two generations ahead, I own the RayBan Meta and have said they are the future and mobiles might loose share for those who want a simpler AI focused setup.

Once you use and live with the RayBans you realise 90% of people never know they are Smart, they take PoV photos and videos that a mobile just can't because your holding it, WhatsApp video calls are so cool when the other party can see what you see. Messages read out, the Meta AI assistant i don't like, but Gen2 talks about HTC type mixed XR rings, bands to maybe give a minority report style function.

All that said it's all useless as the battery life is a disaster at the moment, a good few hours of proper use and dead.

It hasn't been announced, I am sure Samsung will give us more details when it get's announced and they should offer prescription inserts. But this is all just speculation as no-one knows details about the device.
