This appears to be a common issue, is there a common fix?

Leaving the monitor off and disconnecting and swapping plugs seems to make no difference. Swapping source and swapping cables also made no difference and seemed pointless as the screen wont even turn on for me to change the source anyway. It seems completed dead.
