I know I'm outside of the warranty so I don't expect any help with this at all. I've have nothing but poor experiences with Samsung Monitors. I had a 32 inch G5 as well and that did the same thing even more spectacularly. The whole entire right side of the screen just when black after a long time of being slightly dim. The internal menu would spaz out also. That's become trash as of a few months ago.

Now my G7 is consistently going dim. It happened in the beginning when this was under warranty, but I powered it off/on and it was ok. The issue cropped up once in a while and I should have thought more of it and hoped that maybe a firmware update would resolve it, but this monitor has been the red-headed step child of the Odyssey line apparently. I can power it off and on, I can hard reset, but the dim strip on the side comes back after a few mins. I'm shopping for a new monitor  now.

The reason I'm making this post is so that others are aware of poor QC from Samsung, especially the Oddessey line. I work in tech support for a cable provider, and BY FAR Samsung TVs are the most problematic where I get customers calling with a dead panel or they just straight up died altogether. I know Samsung can't help due to it being outside of the warranty. This exact issue with the G7 should be enough for a recall as there's plenty of people out there who have the exact same issue with this monitor (ignore the Faker part because it's the same G7, just red instead of blue). In the exact spot. With the exact same behavior. To the T. I can post pictures if needed, but right now I'm working and trying to do so on this very monitor with the issue.
