Hi, has anyone encountered SD card issues on beta? Mine just started giving a "can't write" error and becoming read only. Tried the usual recounting and physically re-seating it etc.

It's a 512gb Evo Plus, so well within warranty and just seemed odd it suddenly started misbehaving.

I think it's the card.. I've followed all the various guides, but it's stuck in read only. From what I can tell, this usually means a bad sector...

Just weird it happened when not doing anything made me think it might be a beta glitch.

@RichyC,

As you've already noticed, it is possible that the problem was caused by the SD card itself.

Anyway, you can report the problem via the Samsung Members app attaching log files, so that our developers can have a look at it (in case it's Beta-related).

I'm pretty sure it's a card error. From what I can tell and testing, Evo Plus MicroSD just bricks itself when there's an error and can't be undone. It lets you read only to make a copy of anything, but the problem is if you have sensitive data on the drive, you're just handing it over to some random technician. It's a take to the shop and swap job, else buy a new one if there's no data security/destruction assurances.

Hey Martyn, I'm pretty sure it's the card. I've tried to unbrick it with everything include Linux to no avail. Samsung said to take back to a service centre.

I have the same issue. Only started after the recent update. Literally was fine until then so I am suspicious that your issue may also be to do with an update?
