Apps that I was using before  update no longer  work and can't  access files ?

which apps? and by data, if you mean via android/data on internal sdcard, thats because of scoped storage

Which applications are affected, Samsung native apps or some third-party applications?

Is there any pop-up error? Have you tried to clear cache/reinstall the affected apps?

Please, provide more information and report this problem via the Members application. Do not forget to attach log files right after the issue occurs .
