Beta 2 UK crashing my home hub router

So I'm running Android 12/OneUI 4.0 beta 2 on an S21 Ultra and for some reason when I have it on WiFi and connected to my home router the router locks up (drops internet, kicks WiFi devices off and becomes unresponsive) every 1 - 2 hours or so (needing a reboot to bring back up). If I keep phone off the WiFi and just on mobile data my router is fine and works all day with no problems. I contacted my ISP thinking it was the router (Virgin Media UK - home hub 3) and their tech support is useless "reset router completely" which I've done and no difference. So wondering if anyone has any idea why it might be doing this? I'm using the 5Ghz band and the phone works on it until the box locks up again, didn't have this problem on 11/3.1 worked fine no issues. I've ruled out everything else, it only happens when phone is connected. I've rather not factory reset unless last resort - other than this beta is behaving great, all apps work and no excessive battery drain.

Thanks in advance!

So, a tentative update... after resetting the network settings on my phone, it seems to have sorted it, I've been streaming YouTube for around the last 5 hours with phone connected the whole time and it's been ok so far... so fingers crossed!

I have also been getting this. Every hour so my internet keeps dropping so rebooting is the only way to solve it. It works.... Until after couple hours and it does the same thing. In using Virgin Hub3. On Oneui4 on S21U. but after searching the internet. It seems like others are also having this problem. So this is maybe a Virgin media thing than a OneUi4 thing. Also my phone doesn't effect the router. It's the other way around. All other devices also lose connection for me. So idk about yours. But for me I think it's the router or VM being the problem.

Kinda glad it's not just me, I did Google but couldn't find anything but my search term could have been wrong I didn't know how to word it exactly. Reason I think it's the phone is because if I take the phone off the WiFi then the hub doesn't lock up, I can use everything like normal, but yeah it's the connectivity and internet the whole thing locks every couple of hours with the phone connected, I have 3 ethernet devices and several WiFi, it kicks all the WiFi devices off and the ethernet devices say there is no connection. I know virgin hubs are the cheapest and aren't particularly good but it was ok with 3.1.

I've just reset all network settings on the phone and reconnected it just incase that somehow sorts it, it's only been half an hour so far, but I'm not very hopeful.

Hi all, I'm not having any WiFi issues with a BT Smart Hub 2. All seems to be working at good speeds and no drop outs or router reboots required so far (never say never, could happen later).

It seems to be linked to Virgin Media routers with possible compatibility issues.
It is worth forcing to connect S21 o 2.4G or 5G separately to see if it is linked to a particular frequency........ 👍

Wait a ***** minute. Im on Virgin and too have the home hub 3 and since I've had beta installed (first beta 15th september) my hub 3 crashes too at least twice a day. Even though the solid white light is on too. Surly that's a virgin issue and not our WiFi on our phones surely.
It's crazy now I think about it, been happening since very first beta too

Yeah it's most likely something in virgin's rubbish firmware (the hub 2 was worse for me back when I had that). Try clearing the network settings on your phone - it's worked for me, we shouldn't have to I know but I've tried to raise the issue with Virgin and 2 different tech support bots (one on chat and one on the phone) told me to reboot the router... helpful as ever. I couldn't get through to an actual person so I decided to try and figure out how I could solve it myself, and clearing network settings was last thing I thought of trying, but it worked.

Had the same problem with a Virgin SH3, had 4 engineers come and replace pretty much everything to no avail. I ended up buying a router and putting the SH3 in modem mode and that worked. I thought this must have been a Virgin problem but reading this thread now it can't be a coincidence. I don't get how a WiFi defive (Our S21Us) can somehow mess up the Virgin router, but now it makes sense.

I don't think necessarily it's the phone at fault really, I just think Virgin hubs are so temperamental and something the phone is doing the hub has decided in some instances it doesn't like it and so crashes. When I had the super hub 2 it just used to reset itself every few hours, only way to stop it was put it in modem mode and connect a router. So far this morning I have had another crash around half an hour ago, after all of yesterday afternoon/evening being fine, so I think I'm going to bite the bullet and buy a router and put it in modem mode because I'm getting fed up of resetting it and Virgin aren't interested in fixing it (if they even know what's wrong).

I agree with you, Virgin SH3 aren't great, but then before the beta it was working fine so something must be also dodgy on our devices. I also bought my router, not knowing my phone was the problem but I should have bought one ages ago anyway to get better coverage and features. I got a TP-Link AX1800 and it works perfectly.
