If you use Google Assistant as default, when your screen is locked and off and you press the headphones, does it wake ur screen with a black assistant pop up at the bottom?
I thought they were going to fix it in UI 7 like it used to work before (and still does for other android phones). First time you would plug or connect headphones a pop up window would appear to configure them with assistant and then they would appear on assistant>Devices. And you could use the assistant without ur screen waking up, like I use assistant with headphones while phone is in my pocket, why would I want my screen turning on (I've tried all settings and it even happens with gemini).
This is the pop up to configure the assistant with headphones that used to appear not long ago (and still does for other a android phones like my friend who has a pixel 9 pro).

Can someone try using Google assistant (make sure it's set as the default assistant) when the screen locked and off with head phones and see if your screen wakes up as well like in this pic? As I said, previously I would hear a sound to let me know assistant was listening but this is annoying and useless. Thanks

Hi Anna, this isn't a suggestion really, this is how it worked before and how it still does in other phones like pixel pro 9. On my older phone whenever I first connected headphones this set up pop up appeared, sorry I'm posting a YouTube video but it won't let me post 100mb+ files https://youtube.com/shorts/t5hKdvGiMmg?si=CSH-oy93SKPqlR-j this doesn't happen with s24 phone but it does with other brands like pixel in fact my friend sent me this pic after the setting of his headphones and his screen doesn't wake up when talking to the assistant with them
