Just wondering, every time there's an update, do I need to back my phone up using smart switch or is backing up via settings sufficient enough?

I only trust Switch app otherwise if you use settings you need to initiate backup of the phone settings then separately you need to backup your photos but if anything goes wrong you will never be able to have your photos the way they were before without the Switch app, it is literally the only thing recovering everything as it was!

I back up in google photos so haven't done any not interested in apps and settings as I always reset and start from scratch when I get a new phone and after every major update.

So once Android 12 final is released will reset and start from scratch.
