I've been a Samsung user since the S3 and I'm now on the S25U and I'm trying to figure out what are my best go to settings (not as easy as it looks) all my images are 16 x 9.

I have an image that is not a Pano that is 16320 x 9184 shot with the regular settings/regular camera and I'm assuming I was in my 200MP 5x setting. I made a point this day to try not to zoom (2 finger squeeze) and the settings are 27.66 MB  and 149.9 MP But I'm baffled by the pixel dimensions???

A few days before this (just after getting the phone) I was in the same location using the Expert Raw and one single image was close to these dimensions at: 12240 x 16320 (Vert), DNG, 61.03 MB, and 199.8 MP.

One was regular camera settings and one was Expert Raw and yet I've done multiple shots at 200 MP but none of them have created pixel dimensions this extreme.

I would think if there were no crop factor (2 finger zoom or the like) then Most all on my 200 MP image dimensions would be "about" the same???

There is only one setting of 5x for the 200MP although you can do a 2 finger zoom but assuming you don't do that which I would bet would be very detrimental to the quality of the images. I'm just wondering why all my 200MP images are not the same (or nearly the same pixel dimensions???

Why is Lightroom showing 6mm and 149.9MP and the Samsung APP shows in the phone 23mm with the same 150MP. It seems Lightroom is interpreting the data differently... Conclusion? I'm confused

Is there any serious documentation that "really" goes over all these settings and the quality issues and upside and downsides of using the... Right now I'm liking the 50MP the most because it gives you the best depth and zoomed in a 100% is a clear image and you have a lot of image real estate to work with. But maybe I'm missing something...

Maybe I need to go out and deliberately take a shot and write down my settings because as I'm sitting in my living room I did both the 200MP in regular camera and the Expert Raw and both images 16320 x 9184 (reg cam) and 16320 x 12240(expert raw) So it just seems to be me not keeping close enough track...

If you take a shot in 200MP mode zoomed in, it will naturally reduce the overall MP depending on how far you zoom. You can of course upscale to 200MP if you enable the option in Camera Assistant. You'll need to install it from the Galaxy store if you haven't already.

As for those resolutions, it's simply a matter of camera orientation, portrait or landscape mode. Other reasons for those different resolutions is because you've selected different aspect ratios (3:4 9:16 1:1 or Full). 16:9 produces that 16320 x 9184 resolution. Switch to 4:3/3:4 if you want the full 200MP (only in 1x of course).

Well the 200MP only "officially" allows the 1x setting but I assume that is you do the 2 finger zoom you will be doing a digital crop which will lower the quality. I don't have the Camera Assistant installed (yet) and after I get used to these settings I may go look for it.

As far as aspect ratios, I'm trying to keep them the same and in this case 9x16 is what I prefer to shoot at so I'm not playing with the 1x1, 3x4, or full screen.

Ahhh... so choosing 3/4 gives you the full 200MP and any of the other settings gives you less than 200MP... Ok that helps out... Thanks Joeeye
