I'm wondering why this is happening to all my apps on my Samsung galaxy s7 edge but when I leave the app on my phone it grows  in size alot my Facebook was 6.00GB at one point,  and this happens to all apps it seems like every app update it just adds to the original file and doesn't delete the old files  if I leave a app on my phone for too long I run out of storage I have to delete the app and then go to play store and download it again to have the app size lower then before .. wich is wierd it should do that by itself if the app becomes to big it should  delete the original and find the smaller one on play store .. It's insane how full my phone is and I can't keep deleting my apps to get the smaller files! So how do I fix this ?? Without doing a complete whipe??Screenshot_20190328-230545_Google Play Store.jpg

Delete Facebook and just use the chrome browser to visit Facebook.com.

It is very common for this to happen because:
- Your facebook app uses Cache to speed up opening previously opened pages etc. (Cache)
- FB app has an option to save files locally which means these files will fill up on FB app space. (Data)

When looking at my own facebook app, the app itself is 152 mb, my data used is 368mb and cache is 229mb.
So my "cache" and "data" used on the facebook app is almost 5x more then the app itself.

Only option to bypass this is the use the advice from Rohit or manually delete cache everytime it gets full via:

>Settings

>Apps

> (Search for) Facebook app

> Click Storage

> Clear Cache

>Clear Data (you will lose local files on the fb app)

This happens for all apps not only Facebook! Even apps that don't use cashe data and I clear my cashe data every day!

It has nothing to do with cashed data this is simply not removing old versions of updates ! For example update 1 has new options update 2 has the same options + a few extra , but it still keeps update 1 .. Only way is removing the app and reinstalling it ?? It's crazy the phone should erase old updates before installing new ones

If you tried @Talí his tips, the last thing you can try is resetting the phone. Please make an back-up with Smart Switch. I suggest to not reinstall the apps directly after the reset, but check whether the issue is reoccurring after the reset, if not you can manually install the apps again.

I disagree this happens to "all" apps, I have just looked at 5 different apps on 3 different phones and this is not the case only with the Facebook app.

"It has nothing to do with cashed data this is simply not removing old versions of updates" :
If this were the case then I would lose functionalities when deleting cache, which doesn't happen when I delete Facebook Cache.

"For example update 1 has new options update 2 has the same options + a few extra , but it still keeps update 1 .. "
This is also not true, when I look at the fb app the "base" app is arround 150-170mb. When deleting the app and reinstalling it, it still is 160mb.

Furthermore in the Facebook app storage setting you can see the storage divided in: Application, data and Cache. And application storage stays consistent on my phones.

You could always try and reset your phone if you think that would help, I think it won't.

I would advice to buy a sd-card if you need space.
